The first test of Ocean Sun technology in tropical waters. Installed to document the cooling effect in an equatorial environment and the impact of extremely aggressive biofouling. The cooling effect was documented as expected and the biofouling had no documented adverse effect on the structure. The installation tested several generations of panels to arrive with today’s solution performing as expected in the challenging conditions. The project won ASEAN Energy Award special submissions category 2019.FAQs
View All FAQ'sHow does the system perform in extreme weather conditions?
Ocean Sun’s system is engineered to withstand harsh marine environments, including storms, strong winds, and typhoons with wind speeds up to 275 km/h. The flexible membrane and low-profile design reduce wind drag, while the mooring system secures the platform to prevent displacement during extreme weather.
