Ocean Sun’s patented FPV system is used in a 160 kW Alotta installation now operating at Emilsen Fisk’s Båfjordstranda fish farm in Trøndelag—the world’s northernmost floating solar plant. Repurposing a fish‑pen collar as a solar platform, it will produce 80,000–90,000 kWh annually, cutting diesel use and CO₂ emissions. Supported by Enova’s Climate and Energy Fund.FAQs
View All FAQ'sHow does the system perform in extreme weather conditions?
Ocean Sun’s system is engineered to withstand harsh marine environments, including storms, strong winds, and typhoons with wind speeds up to 275 km/h. The flexible membrane and low-profile design reduce wind drag, while the mooring system secures the platform to prevent displacement during extreme weather.
