The first test of Ocean Sun technology in tropical waters.
Installed to document the cooling effect in an equatorial environment and the impact of extremely aggressive biofouling.
The cooling effect was documented as expected. The biofouling had no documented adverse effect on the structure.
The installation tested several generations of GCL panels to arrive with today’s solution performing as expected in the challenging conditions.
The project won ASEAN Energy Award special submissions category 2019.
